Lynda K. Bundrant-Taylor

Lynda K. Bundrant -Taylor combines a life long love of horses, the old West and Native American culture into
a satisfying career as a writer.

I'm not one of those people who grew up knowing that they were going to write a New York best seller list novel or even being a writer. I had another love and I wanted to be a professional horse trainer. After 30 years of devotion to owning, training, breeding, and show some outstanding performance Appaloosas, I took a break for family and to readjust the goals in life. I still own Appaloosas and always will- they are much a part of who I am. But I had always loved to read and had kept a journal since junior high school - which kindled another passion - to write.

I'm a native of the Pacific Northwest where beautiful snow capped Cascade Mountains, rolling wheat fields, evergreen forest and crystal clear rivers and streams are my inspiration. Since 1974, I have raised, trained, and shown foundation appaloosas on a regional and national level. Some of my hobbies are working in my garden, sewing, crafts, visiting ghost towns and fishing with my daughter Kellie, or working in my western home decor cottage business, Wakieta.

My memberships include: Western Writers of America, Women Writing the West, National Association of Women Writers, Appaloosa Horse Club, Inc, Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) #82917 aka Lucinda McKeag, and National Reining Horse Association.

On Writing

"The Journey West; the B. F. Bondurant Story" (work in progress) is a historical non-fiction book about the journey of Benjamin Franklin Bondurants' trek from Missouri to the Hoback River Basin (Falls River) in Wyoming. In a wagon carrying his family, pulled by a team of blind mules and a dream of opening a general mercantile store in Oregon, he traveled through the Hoback River Basin where he fell in love with the beautiful scenery, the land and abundent wildlife and decided to settle in Wyoming. Personal letters of accounts and events along the way, never published before poems, songs and photos of the man known and respected on the frontier of the late 1800's Wyoming territory.
